Russian graves: Andreyev and Besicovitch
« on: Friday 06 February 09 21:05 GMT (UK) »

We are looking for location of the graves:

for Nikolay Efremovich Andreyev (1908-1982), a Russian historian medieavilist, Russian lector at Cambridge, author of the memoirs Studies in Muscovy.

for Abram Samoilovitch Besicovitch (1891 - 2.11.1970), Russian born Jewish (Karait) Mathematician, Professor at Cambridge University.

ANY information would be appreciated

As they were both at Cambridge University it might be worth contacting them to see what they know.

Nikolay Andreyev according to his obituary in The Times had two sons and a daughter who survived him. Can't mention names as they are probably still living, birth notices in The Times in 1955, 1959 and 1962. His mother may have been in England as well as there is a death notice in The Times Feb 28 1961 for an Ekaterina Aleksandrovna ANDREYEV on Feb 24 1961 at Cambridge aged 77.

A death notice and obituary for Abram Samoilovitch Besicovitch appeared in The Times as well, but the death notice said the funeral was private. No mentioned of burial. He married in 1928 but no mention of any family.
