Hi,

A starting point would be to find out where they died, which would be shown on their death certificates.

You could also search for a death/funeral announcement or an obituary in the national or local newspapers.

According to different sources they all died in London.

We do not know how to look up death certificates.

All of the Russians you are searching for here, and on all your other posts tonight, seem to have been fairly well-know in various fields and it might be a good idea to look for death notices or obituaries in a newspaper like The Times to see if places of burial are mentioned.

The death notice for Michael Braikevitch was in The Times Feb 14, 1940. No mention of where he is buried, only that the funeral was at St Phillips's Russian Church, Buckingham Palace Road tomorrow at 12-30. Tomorrow being Thursday Feb 15. He attended a funeral at that church on Jan 21 1937 for Sir Peter BARK. He was also one of the godparents to a daughter of Peter PROVATOROFF at a christening that same church on Apr 30 1933. Do not know if that church is still around but they may have burial registers or records.

It IS a good idea and it mystifies me completely why none of them would have their burial location mentioned.
My guess is they did not want to leave any traces for the Bolshevics...

Sometimes place of burial is not mentioned in death notices. It can depend on whether or not the notice is put in a newspaper to inform people of the funeral arrangements or to announce that the death has taken place.
I wonder would there have been a newspaper that Russian exiles were more likely to read (thus put in notices) than the Times.

Thank you very much for this information.
The church does not exist any more but we are trying to find out where the records were transferred

English death certificates, unlike those from some other countries, do not have the date and place of burial.

We were checking obituaries.
Very often for Russians the Russian church in Elsinore Gdns is mentioned as a burial place but they do not have a churchyard and the interment would be elswhere. They do not have records of actual burials.

Thank you very much in advance

We came across Maria Budberg's grave absolutely accidentally in New Chiswick cemetery.

Princess Vassiltchikov, according to some sources, was cremated and buried in Spain.

We are still looking for two other people.

Hi Julkes

As the Russian Church (now Ennismore Gardens) can't help, have you tried contacting either

Kensal Green Cemetery

http://www.kensalgreencemetery.com/contact/index.html

or Brompton Cemetery

http://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/brompton_cemetery/about.cfm

They may be willing to check their archives as you have an actual date of death.

Thank you for your reply!

WE more or less checked through all 'magnificent seven' cemeteries in Lonon, though who knows - these Russian names might sometimes have different spellings.

There are quite a few graves in Brompton that are extremely interesting to us, much less in Kensal Green.
