Sarah,

Annalough is a very small townland adjacent to Inchaquire where there were Kellys in 1852 but not at Annalough where only 3 families were listed then so there is a strong possibility that Inchaquire is your ancestral home in which case there is almost certain to be a connection with the late Willie Kelly who was a local historian from there.

My 2x's great grandmother was named Margaret Kelly who I have reason to believe belonged to the Kellys of Inchaquire, born circa 1800 who married Martin Cahill, they lived at the Bog Ranger's House, Calverstown Little which is just a mile or so to the north but that house was only built circa 1840 so I don't know where they lived before that.

Willie Kelly died suddenly a few years ago and I have had conflicting reports as to what happened to his extensive research which I can't mention here to comply with the living persons rule but I can send you a personal message to put you in the picture. Also, if you scroll down to the subject "Birth in Kildare" you will see that it also concerns the catholic parish of Crookstown and the townland of Inchaquire.

Good luck,
J.T.A.

That figures, In 1852 John Kelly of Inchaquire held over 70 acres which abutted Annalough. William may have been his son who was able to take over or inherited adjacent lands at Annalough.

Look out for a P.M. from me.
