I agree with you Geoff that it would appear that Holbeach is complete, however, I did another search for a Mary Day, baptised 26 Aug 1822, according to IGI.  She is the youngest sister of one of my 2 x g.grandmothers and although her 3 siblings are listed on FreeREG, Mary doesn't appear to be there.  I presume, in the case of my 3 x g.grandmother, if she is not on IGI, she won't ever appear on FreeReg.

I note there are some places (typically the ones I'm interested in), which have no transcribers listed.  Maybe, I'll volunteer to help out, although I am already doing some transcribing of crew lists.

The problem with FreeReg is that you have to enter a surname, so if there's a dodgy transcription, someone may not appear (soundex probably won't help if the first letter is wrong).

The Samuel SAIN burial was found using a forename (only) search on the NBI.

I've found ancestors of my own in an old book (and the IGI) http://openlibrary.org/b/OL19530204M/registers_of_Bridekirk but the register that I've seen doesn't have them in. Huh

Of course, transcriptions can be taken from registers or from BTs - the two sources need not be identical  Undecided

Geoff, A thought occurs to me from the 1911 census, the surname Luffman is almost entirely transcribed as Suffman, due to the transcribers not being familiar with the copperplate capital L, this would fit too with the surname Sain.
