Looking for any information on Patrick McWilliams and Mary McGirr who were married and lived in the area of Garvallagh/Fintona around the 1860s. Found PAtrick in Griffiths renting property from Samuel Vesey. He had a number of children, John was one of them my great grandfather who emmigrated to the US (Philadelphia). John's death certificate mentioned his parents names.
Specifically, I am travelling there in the summer and wondering if there are any descendents still in the area and where might I search for records? I am pretty sure they were Catholic. IS Omagh the place to look or should I look at Catholic church records in Fintona?
Any and all help appreciated.
