Hello Matt I don't have any information on Ann Offord, but I do have Offord's connected to my family tree.
The earliest I have is Samuel Offord b 1770 Essex. In 1841 he was the Publican of Cherry Tree Public House,Little Stambridge, Rochford Essex. He died 1849 Rochford.
His son, also Samuel b 1800 Rochford, took over as publican of the Cherry Tree. Samuel Offord ( son ) gave up the Cherry Tree (last record 1867), and died 1868.
There may be a connection there ?

Just a snippet of information if your Offord was landlord of the Cherry Tree pub - it is now run by Jamie Olivers uncle - Trevor Oliver.

I'm a Rochford girl born and bred, and as far as I am aware, that's the only Cherry Tree.
Give them a ring - it's in Stambridge Road, Rochford. I'm sure they'd be happy to tell you it's history.

Hi Matt,
You can find plenty of photos of the Cherry Tree by going on to Google "images" and typing in - "Cherry Tree" Rochford - in the search field. The conservatory is a new addition but the rest is still the same.
If you Google "map" it, the postcode is SS4 2AF.
The phone number is 01702 - 544426.
The food is good too if you're in the area!
