My great grandmother was Sarah Ellen Darbyshire, a Home girl from the Bernardo Homes in England. She came to Canada in 1896 with her sister Edith Amelia. The girl's father was William Darbyshire who married Ellen Eliza Clayton. Ellen died in 1893 and the reason the girls ultimately went to the Home. On William and Ellen's marriage certificate his father is listed as John Derbyshie. John married Sarah Strothard and are listed as the parents of William.
John Darbyshire married Sarah Strothard and on their marriage certificate, John's father is listed as Peter Derbyshire (Derbishire) a wheelwright. The Latter Day Saints site has a Peter Darbyshire (Debishire) born 2 Dec 1792 in Whixley, Yorkshire, who would be the right age as John's father. John was born in 1824. The site lists Peter's father as George Derbishire.
The 1851 census shows a Peter Darbyshire, age 58 in Knaresborough. the right age of the Peter born 1792 (above). The BMD site shows a Peter Darbyshire of Knaresborough dies in 1852.
Looking for help identifying this family and the connection to John Darbyshire and Sarah Strothard. Hope someone can help with the line of Peter.
Thanks form Canada 2ron2
