I'm trying to find the parents and birth of Agnes Nevell, The birth date I have is 21 Jan 1832 nothing factual to base this date on other them family folk lore. From the 1851 Census -Civil Parish: Stanground County/Island: Northamptonshire she is with her husband William Gratrix and son. this census gives place of birth as Eye, Northamptonshire, England. The only other clue as that she is also known as Agnes Nevell Harris, but she used the name Nevell in 1849 when she married. I have no idea where the Harris comes in. Hope someone has better luck then I had searching for her birth and parents. Also need to find her in the 1841 Census.

name at all.

I don't have a marriage certificate for Agnes and William. I didn't have any luck finding her in the 1841 census. From the 1851 census it appears that she was born and married in that area. Just started my search to verify facts, as the information I had was never sourced. So was going this root 1st and if that doesn't work then I will send for a cert. Agnes is very elusive I must say. LOL

I found this marriage and I'm 99 % sure its my couple as their 1st born son was born there in 1851

After looking at the original I could see the last name should have been Gratrix.
As far as the name Harris other people have Agnes Nevell Harris and the marriage date is off by 2 years everyone I've ask say they got the info off someones family tree. from what I found above some of the info is wrong.

Yes this is the same family. Agnes and hubby came to Canada in 1852, some of the Gratrix family settled in Hastings co and others in Simcoe county. they are my gg..grandparents.

That is why I could not find them on the 1861 
I have looked at the N.M.I.s and it does not cover Eye.
Maybe SKS can look in the Parish Registers to see if they married
in the Parish Church in Eye.
I will see if I can see her in the 1841 census for Eye in awhile.

Edit: I can see on mention of the family name Nevell in Eye at all.

It seem that Agnes Nevell Harris was meant to be keep secret and someone from California but he belong to Harris family linel ong gone now. I will try another person in Saskatchewan and see what they have answer for us.

William Greatrix parents is James Greatrix and Mary Goodacre I believe they were from Leichestrie something like I can't spell and try Lincolnshire as well that is closeness line and they have about 18 children and he Jame remarried had 4 or 5 more children on second marriage.

I sent today for Agnes Nevell and William Gratrix marriage cert. Maybe that will give me the name of her father. But any information anyone can add would certainly help. I also did find it strange that there doesnt seem to be any other Nevells in EYE. They were married in Peterbor and she gives her place of birth as Eye. So I do beleive she was born near by. Finding her in the 1841 census would maybe she some light on Agnes

Is that Peterborough Registration District or actually the place.
I have tried to find a link since Raccoon noted extra information
to no avail.
There is a marriage on the N.M.I. for a Greatrix from Leicestershire in
Stoke Albany which is just this side of the border so maybe asking
on the Leicestershire board maybe an idea in the meantime.
