Melbecks Registers
« on: Saturday 14 February 09 16:02 UTC (UK) »

Hello there!

Does anyone know when the Melbecks registers date from?

I know that the Anglican Church in Low Row does not look that old but I would be interested to know the register dates and where they are kept, as I can't see them on the IGI unless they are combined with Grinton or Muker

Many thanks

Ashley

Give Northallerton Archives a ring, they'll be able to tell you & will probably have the registers deposited there.

Cheers

Thanks Jay that is a bit help.

Do you think someone from Low Row would be more likely to go to Muker or Grinton before those dates?  It looks pretty much in the middle??

Cheers

Not sure about that Ashley, knowing how our ancestors like a bit of a chase they'll be somewhere you've not considered yet  Smiley

Don't forget the Methodists churches.

I've got someone born at Reeth & can't find their baptism in the COE register so the Methodists in the area are my next place to check.

Cheers

Hi Jay

That means they would also be on the Richmond Catolic circuit so try that too.

Shocked RC hadn't even entered my head as i've never found any in the family so far.

But i'll make a note to look into that.

Look at me taking over your thread, you were the one asking for help  Smiley

Cheers
