Hi Gina45 Sorry I have just seen your reply thank you. I was in Arklow a few year's back for a very short time on my way to Wexford. I found a street called The Brook but could not find no 21 I walked up and down the road and all the number's were there but not 21. I did knock on number 23 to asked if there had been a number 21 and they told me they had only be living there 20 years and in all that time they had never seen a number 21 but there was a gap between 20 and 23 where a house could have been. they was really frendly. So I thought I was in the wrong place. I was in Arklow as I wanted to get a copy of my mother's Baptism from the Church of St Joseph Templerainey as her father did not register her birth. Can you tell me please if the library has a list of the death's from 1930 as I am trying to find my grandmother her name was Mary Dunne she died from T . B after my mother was born and my grandfather James Dunne never registered her death he must have been in a state as he lost his young wife and was left with 4 children to bring up one of them a new baby.

Hi Gina45
Thank you for your reply and help. It would be lovely if you can get a photo of the place as I would love to see it. I must say Arklow is a lovely place My mum used to say it was the Gardens of Ireland and she was very proud of being born there. Once again thank you

Hi Gina
I have just had another at the Baptism Certificate and it say's Church of St Joseph Templerainey. I just checked the Arklow Census and found a Hugh Delaney Age 21 living at number 1 Templerainey and a Mary Reilly living at number 7 Templerainey age 30 also her daughter Mary Ellen age 11. I am not sure if my Grandmother gave birth to my mother at home as they did in those day's as she was dying from T.B. Maybe Mary Reilly helped with the birth of my mother. As my grandmother had only been living in Arklow from 1929 She would not of had any family around her to help. My Grandfather must have moved after his wife died in 1930 to 21 The Brook. Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Gina Thank you so much for your help. James dunne age 47 in 1930 Mary Dunne age 37 in 1930 Margaret Dunne age 6 in 1930 Mary Dunne age 5 in 1930 James Dunne age 3 in 1930 Unknown Baby Dunne died about 9 months old All the above were born in Wexford Brigid Dunne born 18 February 1930 Born in Arklow This is my mother and it was after my mother was born that my Grandmother Mary Dunne died.
I know my mother was living at 21 The Brook in May 1953 as that is the address on her marriage certificate The O'Donnell's you are talking about are the people I was talking to when I was in Arlklow I think they lived at number 23 they were both really nice and tried to help they said that there was an old man who lived in the town that knew everyone. He was normally in the pub. But as I was there early in the morning he would not have been there at that time. They said that he had loads of old photo's of the town and I also think they said his son had the pub not the one in that road the one where all the shop's are I just wish I could have stayed and waited for him as I would have loved to have seen the photo's.
