My great grandmother Ellen Foy was born approx 1858 Roscommon Ireland.
In 1877 she married William Roche in Liverpool.
According to marriage certificate her father was Patrick Foy
Occupation Broker. I have never been able to find any records that give her birth nor the name of her mother.
Witness at her marriage was a Martin Foy who could have been her brother.
Would appreciate any help.

There are parish transcripts on the Irish Family History Foundation website at www.irish-roots.ie, but I dont see any Foy baptisms around 1858, but there are 4 Ellen birth in the next-door county Mayo :

Thank you Shane a very useful site, Ellen may have been born in Roscommon but christened in Mayo. I found marriage records for Patrick Foy ( her father ) also in Mayo I think I will take a chance and pay for entries. I wonder if I can make a condition that I only want birth /christening record for Ellen if her father is Patrick Foy.

I think you can add the fathers name as part of the search - but have not found that to be very reliable for some reason...
