1836 Belfast Directory- John Hamilton
« on: Thursday 19 February 09 05:04 UTC (UK) »

I would be really thrilled if anyone has an 1836 Belfast Directory, if such a thing
existed, to see if there is a John HAMILTON a Shopkeeper, listed.  His son William
was born in 1836 in Belfast and he is not in the Directories that I have been able
to access for 1846 to the early 1850s.

Many thanks

Noticed that there's been no response to your post. No 1836 directory but several earlier ones are online. I've listed them under ANTRIM DIRECTORIES in the Antrim Resources board:

Many thanks aghadowey

Unfortunately my Hamiltons are not in the available directories which are
excellent thank you, and they were probably too poor to rate a mention.
I notice that if the rent was less than £6 only the number of houses
are listed without the names of the occupants.

Back to wading through Parish Registers with a researcher at PRONI and
applying for marriage certs. to Roscommon
