From looking about it seems that there is very little searchable info on the web for Meath. Is this the case or am I missing a great site somewhere.
I need to find out details for a John William ROWLAND b Meath in 1859.
He was a Private in the 109th Regiment of Foot - Bombay Infantry.
Any ideas?

Hi Nellie,
You may be able to find John's father somewhere in the Valuations.
If you succeed in finding the parish in which he was born you may be able to find some more ancestors.

Hi...Is there anyone who could help me in where I could check to find a record for a relative born in 1805, possibly in Kells or Monkstown or from what I have he may have been born in Gardenrath. Any help would be really appreciated.

two ideas to begin with.

Hi Nellie,Have you tried the National Archives website for the 109th of foot.Go to Search The Catalogue ,type in 109th foot then type w.o. in Dept.It should give you a list of the muster rolls & pay lists by year.Usually you can get a microfilm for these lists through the Church Of The Latterday Saints Family History Library.You might get some info of your relative.Regards Peter
