Hi everyone,

Is there any way of accessing old school records, and if so, how would one go about doing such a thing?

Thanks everyone Smiley

Best wishes,

It's possible that the Hull City Record Office or the Local Studies Library would have them.  If you let me know which school(s) within which dates I'll try to find out.

Hi there,

Thanks for replying to me so soon and offering your help.

The first school that I'm looking for records of would be the one on Fish Street, which I believe was called Fish Street Day School? A cafe now stands there, and it's right next door to the grammar school that Andrew Marvell's statue is outside of. The years in question would be c.1887 - 1896.

Thanks very much for your help on this, it is most appreciated Smiley.

I'll make enquiries, but give me a little while.  Can you give a name or names that you're looking for?

Hi there,

Sorry, I forgot to put names down!

The name that I'm looking for is Albert Benjamin Moy, although he may just be down as Albert Moy. He was born c.1882, but I don't know what age they began school back then. He also had siblings called William, Alice, Francis (or Frank), Edward and Rose.

Thanks once more for your help on this subject. It is much appreciated Smiley.

Best wishes,
