GRAHAM and McBRIDE
« on: Friday 20 February 09 20:30 UTC (UK) »

I have Henry GRAHAM, marrying Jane McBRIDE in 1873 (Collier St, Johnstone).  They moved to Ayrshire and had two children called William in 1874 and Henry in 1880.

On the census for 1881, there is a Sarah GRAHAM who must have been born 1877/1878 but I cannot find a birth certificate for her.  According to the 1881 census (Dreghorn, Ayrshire) her birth place is given as Johnstone, Renfrew.  I think perhaps she may have been a family member who was taken in after the death of a parent (??).  Anyone else tracing this family or can help please?

Is the Sarah Grahame (spelt with a E) in 1877 in Johnstone not connected to your family?

Many thanks for this.  That will teach me to use Soundex for even the most obvious searches!!

Is she your Sarah, I just didn't want to use five Scotlands People credits if you had already ruled her out!

Hi,

Do you have anything more on the Jane McBride or the Johnstone Graham family?
