Hi Mrstar I know it's not the precise area you are searching, but the Rattlesden parish records show the following Dennys: 1611 Agnes Denny, widow, of Combs, marries John Waller 1627 Edmund Denny of Combs marries Dorothy Moore 1633 Edmund Denny, son of Edmund Denny, baptised 1704 Audrie, daughter of George Denny, baptised
Combs/Rattlesden are not that far from Debenham, so this info might be of use to you. Regards, Greensleeves

There's a lot of DENNYs in Suffolk. I have one branch loosely related to my mother's side.
There are a few DENNY graves in Swilland churchyard (fairly recent ones), and there's also a few DENNY's in a Roll of Honour plaque for fallen heroes in Ashbocking church. I have photos of the graves and of the Roll of Honour, if you would like to send me your email address in a private message, I can send you copies.

I too have an interest in any Dennys in Suffolk. My Denny's seem to originate in Westhall, being yeoman farmers and then move to Southwold. I am a direct descendant of a Robert and Mary Denny who both died in Southwold and are buried in the churchyard there.
Other surname interests are Threadkell, Biddle, Ginger, Gadsden, Tuffield, Brookes, Kilsby

I am researching the Buckenham family of Debenham, and have come across James Denny through my research, though he is mentioned in regard to Eye, not Debenham.
In indexes of people named in a few Buckenham wills, I've been able to establish that James Denny, of Eye, was married to Elizabeth Buckenham, and they had a son named James also.
The Transcript says the will was dated 1737. James the son was also mentioned in a will of 1759.
By sure chance I was combing the parish register transcripts for Burgate today, and came across the burial of "Elizabeth, ye wife of James Denny", Dec 6 1722.
If you wish to know anything about the Buckenhams, I have a few generations from the wills.
Cheers,
lewis

Hi, I am from Australia and trying to trace my Denny Side of the family. We have always believed we were from London and outside Cambridge. The family legend goes that Frederick Thomas stood in the corner and bitterly cried about the family being disinherited from the aristocratic side of the family etc. Something about a son of an earl having an affair with the maid. However, after 100 years have discovered no such fun, but that Fred thomas married Amelia Mary Morris "Mary" to us and his dad was Charles Thomas who married Rebecca Hill. I would like to confirm the link though and hope I am not going off on a tangent as they did 100 years ago. Who was Charles Thomas and how long have this branch of the Dennys lived in Suffolk. And if anyone could tell me why his grandchildren seemed to be unhappy and bitter (as this part of the legend is true).
