I would appreciate a lookup in the Chaddleworth PRs for the following if at all possible please;-
1/. Baptismal entry for Joseph Froude 1668-1673 approx
2/. Confirmation of his burial there on 31-8-1747 (I somehow have it recorded as 1743 before
he married his 2nd wife Mary Constable in 1746)
3/. Hopefully, his baptism may reveal who his parents were (possibly Nicolas & Martha)
The surname has been written many ways, just to mention a few=Froude, Frood, Frude, Froad .

Hi Alan,
I have the burial for you plus some others:
FROUDE, Joseph, 31 August 1747, 'The Elder'
and Also Chaddleworth:
FROUDE, Ann, 18 Nov 1737, wife of Joseph (I presume you have that one)
FROUD, Mary, 8 Oct 1769, wife of Joseph
FROUD, Mary, 26 Sep 1767, dau of Joseph and Mary?
There are more Froud(e)'s in Chaddleworth if you would like me to transcribe them for you.
And there is this on the IGI:
JOSEPH FROUD
b. 1668
d. 1747
m. Ann Knight, 5 Dec 1698, Shaw-cum-Donnington, Berks

Also are you related in any way to Jessie Eva Froude b. 1901 ish
Married Joseph Jesse Smith, 1921.
Buried Aldworth St. Marys, 7 August 1970 aged 69.
She married Joseph J Smith, one of my gt-gt uncles.

Thanks for the confirmation of Joseph's burial
I would like his baptismal if you have the PRs at hand.
I know there are a lot "Froude" families in and around Chaddleworth.
No, I'm not related to your Jessie. My connection is a long
way back to a Emma Froude who married my G.G.Grandfather

Ribbo if you haven't already looked please glance at our web site you are on the same line as my husband all our Froud information is sourced on the site under the McMullin line
Joseph FROUD(etc) was a farmer and church warden in Chaddleworth
He died 31 Aug 1747 his estatewas probated in Oxford 7 Sep 1747 and again 6 June 1833 as due to the enclosure act more of his land turned up and a second probate held I can send you a copy of the transcript of the will if you contact me through the web site

I have sent you a PM.
Many thanks for allowing me to see your tree. I think I can see exactly where we link
up. My connection would start, coming down the tree, with Jos Froude/Ann Knight
and their son Joseph. Whereas your line starts with the same parents but branches
off with Mary who is Joseph's sister.
Incidently we may also connect up again with Caroline Froude who is the dau of
Thomas Froude & Mary Lambourn. This Thomas is the son of Thomas Froude and
Mary Bunce who are shown in yor tree. A little confusing with so many named the
same!! Caroline went on to marry James Belcher.
I would certainly like a copy of the transcript of the will. My email address has been
sent in my PM to you.
