the townland is included on the townland database (www.seanruad.com) :

Townland : Kilcolman
Area : 220    (acres)
Barony : Pubblebrien
Civil Parish : Kilkeedy
County : Limerick

it is included in Google maps and is about 10k South West  of Limerick City.

Civil registration began here in 1864 so there will not be a civil record of them. The Irish Times has an Ancestors section with various notes and Maps etc of Parishes at : http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/counties/index.htm

Parishes for Co. Limerick are included on the Irish Family History Foundation Website at www.irish-roots.ie (pay site)

Griffith's Valuation (1850s/1860s, head of households only) may show Fitzgerald families in the right area. (nearly 1400 matches for the surname in Co. Limerick!)

I have direct links to Mary FG bap Kilcolman 3 Mar 1833, parents Patrick FG and Mary Canty (married 1832). She married my ggf Thomas FG (1814-1889) and they lived in Askeaton where he was an RIC Officer 1838-1856 and owned a business there. Rumour makes a connection to the FG family at Fawnamore and am looking for anything to move this research forward.
No other children found to the 1832 marriage - have visited Church and inspected Registers.

There are five townlands of this name in county Limerick.I would think that the Kilcolman in question may be the parish of Kilcolman/Coolcappagh in the west of the county, rather than a townland.

As i am not familiar with all the Counties, or parishes it makes it hard as Iam not sure what Iam looking for.
As i have been doing other family research because i have hit a brick wall, i should order Margaret's death certificate, and hopefully maybe able to get things rolling again. Cheesy

Correct - Kilcolman. Between Shanagolden and Ardagh. Pretty sure it takes in Robertstown and, possibly, Foynes.
