Assize Court Records for March 1797 of the Leicester Castle Court seem to have dissappeared.   Is there any other way for find details of a Convict.

Brian, Welcome to rootschat.  Grin

When you say convict, do you use the terms as in a person who has been convicted and maybe jailed in England, or are you referring to a convict as one who was sent to Aus?
Your date of 1797 suggests the latter.

What sort of details are you seeking?

Hello Charlotte,
Yes, I am referring to a Henry Coleman that was tried in the Leicester
Assize and General delivery Court on 23rd March, 1797 and listed as aged 26.
He was found Guilty of stealing a Bay Gelding and sentenced to Death. The
sentence was comuted the next day to 7 years transportation.  This I found
in the Leicester Journal dated 31st March 1797.
I am trying to find out who he was and if he had brothers and sisters and
more importantly - Who were his parents.  I have everything from him forwards.
Thanks for you assistance
