Hello Flash,

Welcome to Rootschat - it's a really great site!

Stonegrave parish records are held at the North Yorkshire Record Office at Northallerton - here's the link - http://www.rootschat.com/links/05p1/

There is also good coverage on the "IGI" -  between 1585 and 1856 for baptisms, and 1585 to 1836 for marriages.

Who are you looking for?  I have a family of Reed who came from Stonegrave in the early 1800's.

Good luck,

Hi,Yorkslass,
Thank you for such a quick reply.  It is a good site only found out about it from a friend.  I am looking for the parents of William Jefferson born 1798, his father was Thomas I think and his mother was Elizabeth, but don't know her maiden name.
Once again thanks  I will look into the Northallerton link.

Have I been in contact with you via Genes?
If not my tree is on there and a photo of John Reed.
I would be interested to hear which branch your husband is on.

Hi Caroline,
My subscription has lapsed with Genes but I think you helped me out on a query about Michael Reed! My husband is related through John Reed's son John, through Henry John  down to Ernest, his grandfather. Sadly that was the end of the Reed name on that branch as Ernest had just one daughter so the name was lost on her marriage.
Best wishes, Maggie.

Oh yes I thought a bell was ringing. Prolific family, the Reeds. I have had several contacts with descendents of John Reed. Have also been to look at Stonegrave and the Reed house.
