Hi,
The picture you have posted of your Great Grandfather Woods at his forge -- where was this taken, was it in Woodford or Hinton -- as I have connections to Richard Sewell the Blacksmith of Hinton !!

Hi Barry
Welcome to Rootschat.
Sorry not to get back to you soon.
I will look for you a.s.a.p., yet I am out in the day tomorrow and Friday.

Hi Barry
I am afraid that there was only one that was half readable.
There are so many stones wih inscriptions that have worn with age.

Hi Barry
I will try and answer with the knowledge I have gleaned whilst searching many Church and Cemeteries in Northamptonshire and elsewhere.
I have seen that sometimes even if the person is an adult it would name her parents also on her gravestone.
Brilliant it you do not already know it.
Wives are not always buried with husbands or nearby depending on how much difference between deaths they are often in other parts of church/grave yards.
All the stones around this Churchyard are mixed dates
I have sent you a P.M.
HTH.
Sandy
