I have just signed up for free web space. I got my email with all details, which I set up in Dreamweaver. Every time I try to connect it says 530 Authentication failed sorry. I have removed and retyped everything so many times What am I doing wrong.
when Clicking on the link nzgenealogy.rootschat.net it opens up the space created for my site
Help Please
What is the SQL Database info and where does it go

Hi babz_nz ,
Had the same thing - its your details that are wrong somewhere - are you going through a FTP programme?
Check your user ID is the same as FTP server - I was inputting the number sent - which is not correct.
Have a look at the questions/answers a couple down - see if they help.
Let me know - it's a struggle first time - but worth it in the end!!

Still no luck, I have read all the topics on the same thing. I have 2 websites already in dreamweaver so cant understand why this isnt working.
Here is what I have done.
I use Dreamweaver
In the local info I put http;//nzgenealogy.rootschat.net/
In the remote info
Access -----------FTP
FTP Host----------nzgenealogy.rootschat.net
Host Directory I left Blank
Log in --------------nzgenealogy.rootschat.net
Password ----------The one I chose
I am going crazy trying to do this

The other boxes in the remote section are
Use Passive ftp-------- unchecked
Use firewall(in preferences)------unchecked
Check In Check Out Enable Files to check in Check Out-------------unchecked
At the bottom of the enable I got telling me the space is now available I clicked on this link
You may enable your MySQL DataBase from account manager if it's available.
and tried to sign in but it said password incorrect
Im going crazy trying to sort this out
