Adwick Le Street, nr Doncaster.

my William Charles Martin born abt 1829,

stated on Census records that he was born in Adwick Le Street, Doncaster.

I have just been through the IGI for this villiage, and not one Martin seems to be there.

any ideas how to find his birth or Christening.

Eilleen.                   just realised this should maybe be on West Riding board ,
                             but I do not know how to transfer it over.

Adwick le Street Parish Records 1547 to 1867
John Martin heads one famly with children Anne 1721 William 1718 Mary 1715 Edward 1711 and John 1713
Edward Martin heads another with children Elizabeth 1739 and George 1737
Another  John with a son John in 1603 and a William with a daughter Elizabeth in 1560.
No Martin's in the registers other than above.

I think Adwick Le Street must be a red Herrin  Huh

other census's put him as Doncaster, York.
