  William Norrice/Norris 2 Dec 1768 Forest Hill/Headington

These are his siblings:-

Elizabeth 21 Sept 1755 Forest Hill/Headington
Henry 1 Nov 1757 Headington
Richard 9 Dec 1759      "
Sarah 28 Dec 1760  + Thomas Cooper 26 Dec 1783 at Headington
John 23 Octo 1763       "
Thomas 26 Jan 1766    "
William  2 Dec 1768 Forest Hill/Headington
Jane April 1770            "
Martha 23 July 1772    "
Anne 14 Dec 1777       "

I have found the baptism's...  Cheesy   Is it possible to find the Marriages   and   Death/Burials.   Cool

   Slight panic...
Need to confirm this is William s/o Henry and Jane. Same William who marries Sarah Ash 1791 Islip.

Hi Sue

On the 1851 where you found Susannah Norris, 64 b Islip MIL ...I think her status is monthly nurse and not Mother-in-law. Undecided

deb

Hi Lesanne  Cheesy

just rechecked Susanna Norris in 1851 and she is def Monthly nurse under 'relation to head of house" and not MIL

From DebbieG

From Islip - there are a few very early 1600s entries I will go back to when we need them.

marriage - by lic 1791
William Norice of Wood Eaton to Sarah Ash
witnessed James Ash & Thomas Tanner

They then had
1792 Elizabeth
1794 Henry
1796 John 1799 James
1801 William
1803 Joseph
1805 George
1808 Thomas
1811 Charles
1813 Richard (buried 1814)

burial 1836 of William Norris aged 72 and 1850 Sarah Norris aged 81

So we have a William Norris born abt 1764 and on their last child Richards baptism he is given as cordwainer

do we have a baptism for him?

Debbie

and this....

the best I can come up with right now is these burials from Headington

1757   Henry   NORRIS      Oxon   Headington, St Andrew
1760   Richard   NORRIS      Oxon   Headington, St Andrew
1767   Thomas   NORRIS      Oxon   Headington, St Andrew
1778   Anne   NORRIS   inf   Oxon   Headington, St Andrew
1788   John   NORRIS   24   Oxon   Headington, St Andrew
1811   Henry   NORRIS   54   Oxon   Headington, St Andrew
1824   Phobe   NORRIS   51   Oxon   Headington, St Andrew
1846   William   NORRIS   83   Oxon   Headington, St Andrew

That last one is very worrying - we now seem to ave two William Norris's born within a year of each other in nearby parishes

Debbie

do Paul & Susannah appear in later census and could they be brother and sister rather than husband andwife?
