Samuel Cecil Bradbeer b.1878, Burton
« on: Friday 23 April 04 14:49 BST (UK) »

Hi
I'm searching for any information about my gt. gt. Uncle Samuel.  He was the oldest child born to Walter and Emma Bradbeer, he married in 1908 in Burton and died in 1978 in East Staffs aged 99 years.  I know he had at least 1 daughter.  Samuel also had a sister Beatrice living in the Staffs area but I know she never got married.  I would appreciate any information about Bradbeers in the area
Thanks very much
Kathryn

Just had a look at the 1851 Staffordshire surname Index, and can report an absence of Bradbeer(s).

They must have moved into Staffordshire after 1851.

Thank you Chris and Pauline

I know that Walter Bradbeer was from Pitminster, Somerset.  He moved to Burton with two of his brother's to work in the breweries approx 1873.  He married Emma 23rd July 1876 in the parish church (christchurch) in Burton and they had seven children, all born in Burton.  Sometime after 1900 Walter and Emma moved back to Somerset and Walter died in Oake in 1921.  I have found them in the 1881 and 1891 census' but none of them are on the 1901 census.  I seem to be able to get more information from further back!  I wondered if anyone would be able to offer me some advice about how I could find out about Samuel and the possible whereabouts of his family.
Thanks for your help

Pauline you are wonderful!!

This is my family and you wouldn't believe how happy I am right now!!
I can't thank you enough!!  I've searched for them for ages, using every variation I could think of - except that one!!
Ernest aged 1, is my great grandad and he came to Wales to work in the coalmines.  Walter, the soldier, was my gt. grandad's brother but unfortunately he was killed during the battle of Gallipoli in 1916.
I will now go and look at what I can download.
Thank you ever so much, I'm soooooo grateful
Thank you
