James Joiner
« on: Sunday 01 March 09 19:31 UTC (UK) »

James was born circa 1785 and later married Elizabeth in Sheldon, Warwickshire in 1811 where most of the children were born.

I have searched the archive for much of Warwickshire and they are not there.

My thoughts are that they could be Kings Norton folk or from an area bordering Worcestershire.

Does anyone have a James Joiner? I need the area and place, date of birth, parents etc

Hi,

Is this your family in 1851?

1851  HO107/2063  f.133  p.4  Sheldon

James JOINER    Head    M    66    Labourer         Clarendon Warwickshire
Elizabeth           Wife    M    62                         Charwelton     "  "
Jane                 Daur    U    22                          Sheldon        "  "
Edward        Grandson         12    Scholar               "  "          "  "

I wonder if Clarendon should be Claverdon as I can't find a Clarendon in Warwickshire but I did find this birth on the IGI,

James JOYNER
Christening:  08 JUN 1785   Claverdon, Warwick
Father:  William JOYNER
Mother:  Margaret

Hi Daisypetal.

Yes, it is the same family. I do wonder if Clarendon could be a name, used in the past perhaps. I searched Solihull, Clarendon, Elmdon, Bickenhill and Tanworth in Arden Registers. I could not find the baptism/birth of James.
His marriage was in Sheldon in 1811. They had together a number of children.
I dont know about James b 1785 as I am sure someone connected to him suggested their was not a connection to him. Charwleton is in Northamptonshire I gather.

From the marriage cert/parish record the father of James is William but that really is all I know.

Any ideas? I am grateful for all your help in this regard

Many thx Manx.
