could someone help please? i keep hitting a brick wall this one is hard to find. my ggreat grand father. james henry compton d o b unsure. married in 1895 in warwickshire / birmingham. my ggreat grand mother miss elizabeth hogg. she was born in 1870. i cannot find anything at all on this family or if they had had a family of there own please can some one help many thanks kathy.

If they did not have a family of their own - where did you come from?
You have the marriage date and it was in Birmingham, Warks, so there is your starting place - The Parish Register of the church they married in. Then it is on to the electoral poll book as you have an address where they were resident at time of marriage from marriage certificate

thats just my point i know nothing about this family i have tried searching has far has my memory will allow. i know my ggreat grand father was named james compton. and gg grandmother was elizabeth hogg. but thats it i found those names i am persumming they are the ones anyway married in 1895. otherwise its a coinsidence thanks kathy
My grandmother was Kate Crompton, but her maiden name was Parry. I have lots of information an my Cromptons and several records for Cromptons that don't seem to fit. Amoung them is a James H Crompton (b app 1874), Mother, Ann Crompton (b app 1850), brother William Crompton, (b app 1870) On the 1891 census:
