1861 census lookup Ashton-under-Lyne

If anyone has access to the1861 census can they please look up Joseph & Alice Travis.

On the 1851 census their address was 172 Milking Green Lees Ashton-under-Lyne.
Joseph was age 39 cotton spinner born Butterworth
Alice age 41 born Stansfield Yorkshire
son Henry age 21 born Heywood Bury
daughter Esther age 19   ditto
daughter Alice age 16      ditto
son Joseph age 14           ditto
son Abram age 13            ditto
son George age 11           ditto
son James age 9               ditto
son John age 5         Over Darwen

Hi Kazza

Thanks for letting me know. I have since discovered that there is not a surname index for the 1861 A-U-L census.  I wish I lived in this area then I could trawl through the census myself.

Do you know, or does anyone else know, whether the same situation applies to the 1871 A-U-L census.

I am trying to discover whether Joseph & Alice Travis were still alive then and don't know without having access to these census records how best to proceed.

Hi,

We do not have anyone offering lookups on the Cheshire 1871. However I am not sure if there is a surname index available.  

Your best bet is to post a topic in the Census Discussion board,  someone out there will probably know if it is available.
