Hi all!

I'm a Roots Chat virgin, so be gentle with me...!

Ok, I'm looking for the name "Tinley" in Cavan. My Father, James Francis was born there in Stradone in 1934. His Father (also) James Francis b.1902c married Catherine Frances Fitzpatrick, b.1912, unsure of a date of marriage but approx 1930.

James Francis' Father was (ALSO!!) James Francis Tinley and he married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Farrelly. They had 2 more children, Patrick "Packy" Tinley and Mary. Packy never married or had children, and died early 1980's, and Mary was last heard of in Nantwich, Cheshire.

Right, Catherine Frances Fitzpatrick, my Paternal Grandmother, had 3 siblings, Molly, Margaret and Philip. Their parents were Owen Fitzpatrick and Catherine Brady.

I've run out of hope! I've searched just about every Irish geneaolgy website, type in Tinley and...computer says no..!

Any ideas anyone?

hi  i know its 2 years on , but just joined irish roots  if you look up laterday saints website you will find the surname tinley there. if you have a local church of same you can visit their family history  dept and look up your family for free hope it helps good luck
