George French,Neithrop
« on: Friday 06 March 09 20:55 UTC (UK) »

On the 1871 Census which was taken on the 2nd of April 1871,I have George French,Neithrop,Banbury listed.
I also have the  passenger list of the "SS Colorado"which was in Liverpool on 30 March 1871,and George is listed on this also.
Anybody any ideas?

Well, it's either two separate people (possibly cousins?) - or George changed his mind (I would imagine that three days to get from Liverpool to Banbury is not out of the question)!

There are 13 George FRENCHs with births recorded in Banbury RD (includes Neithrop) between 1841 and 1861 - the majority of them either in the same years or in consecutive years.

In the 1871 census, are you referring to the George FRENCH b. c1858 in Banbury, s. Richard and Sarah, living in Neithrop?  Does his year of birth match with that of the GF on the ship?
