I've only just started to try and find out who my family were.  I'm not sure where to start looking ... so thought if I just posted a few details maybe someone could advise??  please??

My great grandmother Bridget Diggan and grandfather James Burke were married 10 July 1902.  They had eleven children - Bridget M, Mary Josephine, John, Peter, Jim(?), Alice, Moriah, Michael, Annie and John C.

Bridget and James moved to South Wales, I think four of those children were born in South Wales.  My grandmother was Mary Josephine who was one of the children born in Waterford.

I've been told over the years that they lived in Sheeps Lane, Waterford but I can't find anything relating to Sheeps Lane at all.

James had a brother Michael who married Bridget's sister, Mary, they had a daughter Jane(Janee).

Bridget (my great grandmother) also had two sisters, Molly and Bridget(?) who at some stage went to live in Boston, USA.

There have been references by my Aunt that my grandfather was a butcher, but she says his name was "Nicholas".  She said that when she was very young (60 years ago? )she stayed at the house in Sheeps Lane, and catagorically says that there was a "slaughterhouse" which she could see through the bedroom window.

Can anyone offer any tips at all?  Id really appreciate it - thank you.

Sheeps Lane was in Shortcourse (which is off Barrack Street) in the city. The slaughterhouse was demolished years ago.
