I dont think those are his parents. I have Henry and Harriet Tilt for Joseph parents. Henry born 1806 and Harriet 1808.
And Joseph being born 1834. Maybe Benjamin Tilt could be Henry's brother...Is there away to find that out?

I believe Mary E Tilt die before Joseph Tilt. On 1881 census it shows Joseph Tilt a widow at the age of 46. Maybe I am wrong on, but then I have Joseph's siblings all wrong?
Thank you for the help.

   IGI on
              www.familysearch.org

has    Joseph Tilt b 1834  baptised 25 Dec 1834 Bromsgrove  father William
                                                                                                  mother Harriet

or      Joseph Tilt b 1846 baptised 25 Dec 1846 Bromsgrove father Benjamin
                                                                                               mother Mary.
Benjamin & Mary may have had another Joseph b @1825 who died early and a Benjamin & Sarah had a Joseph b 1824.

You may have to bite the bullet and get the cert for this one .

You say that Joseph and Mary had a son Walter, the only Joseph Tilt with a son Joseph was born about 1846, not 1834.

Looks like a cross over between the families has gone down the wrong track.

1881    has Joseph Tilt b @1835  Brosgrove as a widower lodging with the Wright family his profession is Nailer . Yes he is age 46.

  RG11/2938 F 120 P46

Going on that then Joseph who married Mary Eleanor/ Ellen was b @1846 so he would be the son of Benjamin & Mary going on the baptisms I found Above.

This looks like the other Joseph's (1834) marriage,

Marriages Dec 1860.
Brooks    Mary Ann. Bromsgrove.    6c.   647.
Falkner    Henry.    Bromsgrove.    6c.   647.
Portman    Mary.    Bromsgrove.    6c.   647.
Tilt    Joseph.         Bromsgrove.    6c.   647.

I think you will find them in 1871, indexed as TILL

Thank you.
I do have a cert for Harriet Ward (Tilt). I think Benjaim was the brother to Henery/ Uncle to Joseph Tilt.
I do have the sibling for Joseph, But there was some many Joseph Tilts born around the same time, I was getting mixed up on Joseph SR. Joseph JR Joseph 1 Joseph 2 and so on.
I am now back on the right track.
Thank you
