Hello

I have carried out a lineage search for the name Hollisey and it leads back to Jane Hollisey from Langport. Is it her maiden or married name. I found no marriage for a Jane Hollisey from 1837 onwards.

She appears first in the 1871 census in Bristol. I have looked in the Somerset Record Office for her baptism but couldn't find any reference to her.

Did you know that Francis Widdicombe Hollisey had two families. His first wife died in 1892. They had 5 children of which I believe 4 survived to adulthood.

I was intrigued by the name Cokely given to her Jane's children. If their birth certificates do not list a father then I suspect that she has given them the name of the father.

Hi How do you relate to the hollisey family?

Jane is my Great Great Nan if you email me on hollisey at bt internet dot com (if you get my drift) i will forward you the family tree and any certs you want as i have all of them.

Jane's maiden name was read. she married James Hollesy(Hollisey) in 1851.

Dean

I have visited the Somerset Records Office and found the baptism of a Jane Read in Langport 1829 March 1st.  Her parents are Thomas & Ann Read. He is a Labourer.

Thomas and Ann have another older child named Elizabeth baptised June 10th 1827 in Langport.

I looked through the remainder of the 1920's and all the 1930's but found no other children with the name of Read. Perhaps they moved on.

I will now check out the 1851 marriage between James Hollesy and Jane Read to find the Registration District.
