John Evans married Margaret Campbell on 30th Jan 1865 at Saint Annes Church of Ireland, in the Parish of Shankill, Belfast County Antrim.

You need to get their marriage certificate details ( from http://www.groireland.ie/  or http://www.groni.gov.uk/   I think the first one is the cheapest.
Another way is to contact www.familyulster.com with the details and they can email the information found.)

to fnd John's fathers name and address details at time of marriage to progress.

Newtownards is in County Down which is part of Northern Ireland. Unfortunately there's no way to tell which, if either, is the correct marriage for your John Evans and Margaret Campbell.

It will list the residence of bride (and groom) at the time of the marriage which may, or may not, be where she was born or where her family were living.

Further information on the parentage of John Evans has come to light, Father was William Evans, Mother was Anne Keohan/Teohan. Long shot I know all I know is the John came from Co. Fermanagh.

Fran,
It is indeed a long shot. As John appears to have married 1864/65 there is a very good chance that his parents married before 1845 when Civil Registration of Protestant marriages started. If this is the case you will need to know the parish where John was born and preferably the townland as you will have to depend on church records, if they exist.

I think the best thing to do,is to buy the two marriage records for John Evans and Margaret Campbell from 1864 and 1865, and from the information on the marriage certs you will probably be able to move forward again( or is it backward).

Good luck
