OAKHAM marriage lookup HILL please COMPLETED

Hi,
Could anyone help me with the Oakham marriage of James Hill, born Oakham 1766, and Jane born Uppingham 1781.

Their daughter Eliza was born 1825 and married William Gilbert in Oakham in 1849.

I would be very grateful for any information on the family.

Hi Louise

There is a marriage in Uppingham 29th Sept 1822 of

James Hill to Jane Chamberlain  by banns which would seem to fit the bill.

This was from the Rutland marriage index,  so I am afraid I have no further info on it,  but at least it gives you somewhere to start.

Hi Debbie,

Thank you very much. The name Chamberlain crops up as visitor staying with Eliza and William in the 1851 census.  So I think that must be them.
