I used to think genealogy was the study of genies.

Thomas Cobb appears on the 1851 census at Eaton Bray in Bedfordshire, age 74, born Wing, Buckinghamshire. I am hoping that someone has access to Wing parish registers (or transcripts thereof) and can check for his baptism around 1777 (and maybe any siblings before and after?).

I had tried the IGI and not found anything for Thomas in Buckinghamshire around 1777.
And I too wondered about the Thomas baptised at Totternhoe in Bedfordshire, as a Thomas Cobb married a Sarah Durrant there in 1775 (and both were later buried there according to the National Burial Index). However there is a string of baptisms for their children at Tottornhoe - William in 1775, Ann in 1777, Sara in 1780, Abigal in 1782, Thomas in 1786, Elizabeth in 1789, Hannah in 1793 and Susan in 1799 - and that makes me think that their Thomas was likely born at Totternhoe around 1785/6 and raised there, rather than being born at Wing around 1777.
I've just looked at the IGI again and searched for Cobbs at Wing using the batch number, the only one who comes up is a William Cobb baptised on 3 May 1772, parents William and Ann. I wonder if William and Ann might also be Thomas' parents, and if Thomas, and other children, were born/baptised elsewhere in that part of Buckinghamshire? However I'm not finding baptisms for other children of William and Mary around that time period in Bucks or Beds.
