« on: Wednesday 11 March 09 05:19 UTC (UK) »

GDAY:)
Trying to Research my direct D'ACRE line that were french Refugees to Ireland in 1700s
Apparently were involved in silk weaving or Spinning industry, either there or as others said in Donegal
Some Changed the Name to DEAKER
May have been Hugenots, but trying to find some records where i can at least locate the family etc
Thanks

Transcription of names in the Huguenot Cemetry, Dublin here:

http://www.hidden-dublin.com/huguenot/huguenot2.html

No D'Acre or Deaker that I can see but I only gave a quick look. Some links to other Huguenot sites also.

The Laois (Queen's County) Huguenots appeared to have settled in Portarlington.

Dara.

Cathy

I am a bit confused as to what info you have on the family

I was going through Connorsgenealogy.com just now, and I see you have an interest in Dacre/Deaker for Mountrath in 1700s.(I assume you are the Cathy Carley from Aus there)

Do you think they came from Mountrath?
