hello everyone im still searching for my ggrandmother mary kennedy from parsonstown birr born 1851, i cannot trace her anywhere so im off on a different route now, please can anyone tell me if graveyard street parsonstown is still there or has anyone got links with it.the reason im asking is because i have found sn enrty in grifffiths valuation which might be her i wondered was it a poor area in 1851 what kind of people lived there, thanks

If you take a look at this site for Griffiths , they  let you access the old map of the area.

Sometimes the link does not work off an individuals entry, but I did succeed in getting the old map of Birr. I could not find in a quick look, a Graveyard St, but I can well see why over the years the inhabitants of that street may have got the name changed.

You want to look around the Church as I assume that is where the graveyard was then (try Google earth satellite view to find where the graveyard is today too)

Birr Roots 1901 has;

High Street or Graveyard Street (57)
Kennedy Johanna, Joseph, Patrick (but no Mary)
(not there in 1911, just called High Street) ( No Kennedy either)
