Hi ev,
This doesn't tally with your birthplace for David but in 1891 there is one born Aucherarder, Perthshire living at 4 Rogers Lane, Kirriemuir, Angus, 29yrs, Shoemaker. He is with wife, Jessie McKinzie Farquharson, 23yrs, born Kirriemuir, Steam Loom Weaver. Children: John A Farquharson, 8months, Kate M Farquharson, 2yrs; both born Kirriemuir.
Can't find any more for Peter.

hi rae  Smiley

thanks for your help
i'm really not sure what happened to david and peter so i'll keep what
you've found in mind
both their parents died before the 1871 census so i can't narrow it down
that way

Hi Ev

Peter looks to be down in Chorlton Cum Hardy  in Lancashire in 1891 I think. Everyone showing as born in Scotland apart from baby Peter. I wonder if Catherine may be from a first marriage for mother Lizzie if you have found Peter unmarried in 1881:

Peter Farquharson 29, tailor
Lizzie Farquharson 32
Catherine Farquharson 13
Jessie Farquharson    6
Peter Farquharson    10 months, b. Manchester, Lancashire

RG12; Piece: 3164; Folio 87

There is one marriage showing on SP for an Eliz* and a Peter Farquharson in 1885 (not in Angus) which might be theirs?

Can't easily see Peter and family in 1901 (Scotland or England).

Nothing obvious for David unfortunately. The closest in 1901 is a David born Dundee but occupation plumber which wouldn't fit. Are the likely deaths David in 1891 and Peter in 1926?

Hi ev,

I think the 1891 death for David may be correct. Looks like he ended up in the poorhouse - maybe through ill health? Sad

Dundee Combination Poorhouse, [top of] Eliza Street
David Farquharson, inmate, unm., 32, for[merly] shoemaker, b. England

thanks hume  Smiley

thats him
right age , profession , and he was the only member of the family born in
england
his mother died age 30 of what sounds like a stroke , and his father was found
dead in bed age 36 so ill health could have been a factor

The 1861 death in Dundee shows that he had left the PoorHouse, but is shown as a Pauper, formerly Shoemaker.

Parents shown as Peter F and Maria F  MS HAGGART, which leads to the question of what happened to the siblings of Peter, b. 26 DEC 1861 Dundee, and David? ......

Peter Farquharson & Maria Haggart
Married 31 Decr ?? 1856 Dundee, - I'd have read Novr but for the actual date.

James FARQUHARSON
Birth: 27 MAY 1857 Dundee

William Courlous FARQUHARSON
Birth: 05 JUN 1864 Dundee
[GROS have read the middle name as Caurlans ! - personally I'd go for Courlons .... but then that 'n' could maybe be a 'u' ....]

Helen Melville FARQUHARSON  [died 1937, married to a Mr OGILVIE ?]
Birth: 09 APR 1866 Dundee
