HELP !!? Missing baptism and marriage records for Preston?

I have been looking for information on this website

http://www.opcdorset.com/Preston/Preston.htm

but have come across the messages: "no baptisms for 1820 in BTs" and also "no marriages for 1820 in BTs".

I am trying to trace a baptism for George Galpin (born approx 1820 in Sutton Poyntz), and also a marriage record for his parents (William and possibly Mary?), who I assume married also in 1820 as I cannot find them on any records Undecided

Can anyone help me or guide me in a different direction.

Hi,

William might have married in his bride's parish.   Undecided

Perhaps an email to the opc  for Preston asking for advice will give you some clues.

I have done that and hopefully they might come up with some clues.  It is unfortunate that I have found Mary Gapin the mother of George on the 1841 Census but it only gives me her place of birth as Dorset.  Then looking for her on the 1851 Census I have numerous records for Mary Galpin.

The parents of George Galpin have been now annoying me for a long time because I cannot solve who exactly they were to go back any further.  I think I will have to leave it for a while as it is driving me Nuts!!
