On the IGI site there is a Richard Corderoy born about 1718 at Blewbury Berkshire.

Bit of a long shot but would anyone know the date of the birth and or Richard's parents.

The only other detail I have of Richard is that he married Mary Smith 13/2/1743 at Blewbury.

The IGI entry is a guess - subtract 25 years from the date of the marriage and assume he came from the village the marriage was in.

There is a Richard Corderoy bapt Blewbury (or Upton - the registers are mixed up) 10 Aug 1713 s/o Richard & Jane. There is also one from Denchworth (bapt 6 Aug 1718). Two possibles for the marriage, there may be more.

Hi Buzz and Newburychap,

         From OFHS  Blewbury PRs

  Baptism

10 Aug 1713 Richard Corderoy son of Henry and Jane

I had a look for a marriage for Henry and Jane but it wasn't in Blewbury.

Did find these burials though Smiley

  11 Jan 1732 Jane Corderoy, wife of Henry
  16 May 1755 Henry Corderoy

  This is the only Henry that would fit so there is a good chance its the right one.

    Hope this helps and if i can help you more just say Smiley

Mary       "       , 19 Dec 1798 ?

Mary       "        , 29 Jul 1712, dau of Henry
Wm         "        , 19 Jun 1727, son of Henry (included in sermon)?

There are quite alot of Corderoys at Blewbury St. Michael

Corderoy seems to be quite a common name in Berkshire around that time when you look on the IGI site.
