Could someone with a world Ancestry subscription please look at a Canadian border crossing for Sidney J Burn, born 1888 England who give his residence as China.I can only look at UK arrivals on my sub. I am trying to work out when his wife and two elder sons travelled to China and am hoping this will provide a clue. There is a further reference to a Sidney J burn on a canadian passenger list, which may or may not be him. I have found the Burn family arriving in England in 1925: Sidney Joseph merchant age 37 Rose Eva home duties age 36 Arnold T (Thaxter) age 12 Sidney T (Thaxter) age 10 Ralph Stephen age 5 Derrick J S age 1
Any information will be a bonus.Derrick J S is my Aunt's late husband and until we started sorting her papers,we had no idea he was born in Shanghai I think the 1925 trip was to bring the family home.Sidney J seems to have made several return trips to Shanghai, according to findmypast index.
Thanks Barbara

Wow! Thanks so much ,this is definitely him because I can remember going to see Mrs Burn as a small child - she lived in Worthing. Weird that he gives China as his intended permanent residence.I always got the impression that Uncle John's father died when he was a baby .Maybe they split up? I would love to have the entries - will PM you. Thanks again Barbara

Thanks Nell, all the images came through - what a bonus! I can't wait to tell my cousins. What I find so amazing is that my Uncle never mentioned any of this to me,or any of us,come to that.He was only a baby,I know, but his brothers weren't.......and it would have been fascinating. Much appreciated Barbara
