Is any one going to the Watt Library?

Is any one going to the Watt Library ?
Ann Baker suggested looking at the parish records for the hire of the Mort Cloth which might indicate
the date of the burial of my 3x Gt. Grandfather.
I was hoping somebody would be kind enough to look for me.
My 3x Gt. Grandfather was Henry McLeod born approximately 1806, occupation Cooper.
He was married to Janet Murdoch.
I have him on the 1841 census living in West Quay Lane, Greenock.
I have contacted the Watt Library and they have found him in the Greenock Directory for 1847-1848
living at 10 Watt Street, Greenock He does not appear on any subsequent Directories.
He had already died by the 1851 census.
Any help would be appreciated, I've been stuck with this for a very long time.

Thank you Weemary I will have another go.
I don't like to pester them too much, I always think they might have more important things to be
dealing with.

Hi,
I have just had a reply from the Watt Library.
They told me to try the National Archives of Scotland.
Can anyone help me, are they on line and do I have to pay.

Hi Celia,
Thanks very much for the offer but I contacted the Watt Library and they don't seem to hold the
records I'm looking for. As I said in my earlier posting I am trying to establish the date that my
3x Gt grandfather Henry McLeod died.
