Found from the 1911 irish census my G Grandfather was born in Co Down & he was age 50, trying to find any info about him. I do know his father was called John levingston harrison but have no other info on him.
James must have been born around1861, is there any records i could seek to obtain a birth cert etc

Civil registration of births in Ireland started in 1864 so there'll be no birth certificate for someone born before that date. Therefore you need to search for churc records (if they exist)- to do so you'll need to know the family's religion and where they lived (parish if not actual townland).
There are lots of Harrisons from Co.Down listed here-

Had a look at the site, cannot relate to my James,
I always thought they came from Armagh as he married there & my grandfather was also born  there in Ballyhannon.
I believe they were protestant.(church of ireland)
