im tracing my wifes family. her great great grandfather was samual james bassell mcphee i no he died in 1925 but do not no anything else. would like to know his brother's sister's, mother, father and any other relatives.
also her great grandmother mary elizabeth bowey she was born on the 16/10/1893 in either northumberland or durham her parents where james wilson bowey and mary jane Huh(need her name before marraige) also need to know her brother's or sister's names etc
all help would be appriciated.
i now believe they may have come from a place called slaley but still have no details of there relatives chris

Didn't ignore your message but I  have returned to full time work after a 2 month holiday so don't get much time on here now. I don't have access to Northumberland for 1901 but am ok before that so I really need some idea of Samuel Mcphee's age as they are never generous enough to include all those wonderful names on the census. Do you know how old he was at death for instance? There are several Samuel McPhee/McFee's on 1891 and I have no idea what age I am looking for - bit difficult without birthplace. Any children born before 1901? Wife's name?

Sorry - you will have to find one of the children's birth certs to determine the parents. Very strange because there are no parents on 1871 yet more grandchildren appear after this date. Unmarried daughter, perhaps?? Or send for her marriage cert to see if her father is named.
