In the 1830s, two tenant farmers lived in the Townland of Moigh, adjacent to Cootehall - John MULDOWNEY and Thomas MULDOWNEY.

I've followed many of their descendants to the USA (Ohio, Massachusetts, New York and Rhode  Some of the marriages  (ca 1845 - 1850) I have include:

Bridget Muldowney m. Eugene MORAGHAN at Ardcarne
Timothy Muldowney m. Bridget MURRY at Ardcarne
John Muldowney m. Bridget McLOUGHLIN at Ardcarne
Mary Muldowney m. Michael KENNEDY at Ardcarne
Catherine Muldowney m. Owen CLEARY at Ardcarne
Thomas Muldowney m. Frances FORRY at Ardcarne
John Muldowney m. Bridget McGEE at Boston
Thomas Muldowney m. Catherine FARMER at Boston
Margaret Muldowney m. James CLEARY
Patrick Muldowney m. Margaret MULLANY at Amsterdam NY

I'm happy to share what information I have on these families, and hoping to learn more myself about them, as well as some of the other Muldowney marriages recorded in the parish register of Ardcarne/Cootehall.

Thanks for your interest.
