George Steele was baptised in 1807, Manchester (Collegiate Church/Cathedral).  He was a bricklayer/setter in Cross Street, Hulme all his adult life at least. 

His parents were Charles Steele and Mary, neither of whom can be found on the censuses, so presumably died prior to 1841, and I can't find a credible marriage for them in the usual online sources eg IGI as there are none for Lancashire and I have no idea where else they might have come from. 

In 1827 George married Mary Renshaw of Manchester.  George and Mary's children included: Elizabeth (1831), Mary, George Charles (1835, m. Lavinia Crowley), John, Emma, William Henry (1846), Maria, Sarah Ann, and James (1850).  Only Elizabeth, George Charles and William appear to have survived to adulthood. 

George Charles married Lavinia Cowley with whom he had four sons all born in Hulme: William, Walter, George and Thomas who seem to have become boiler makers. 

Thomas married Alice Maude Stredder with whom he had four children: Thomas, May, William and George.  They lived in Horwich at the beginning of their married life, but from about 1901 lived in Bangor Street, Hulme where Alice Maude had family.
