1861 Census lookup - Dawson
« on: Thursday 17 February 05 00:31 UTC (UK) »

I'm having a big problem with the my ggf and gggf in Sheffield. If somebody could look them up in the 1861 Census I'd be very, very grateful.
    Samuel Dawson - Fork Grinder
    Hannah Dawson
    Horace Dawson - age 2 or 3.
Horace was born in High Green, Ecclesfield in 1858 so they were probably still there in 1861.
A search of Family History Online gives Piece:3457 Folio:55F

Thanks

from www.familyhistoryonline.net (pay-per-view site)

Horace DAWSON found in Sheffield District 1861 Census index 1 entry  £0.05

That should get you the ref (and maybe the household details too).

Thanks for the advice. £5 got me the piece and folio number for the 1861 census and also a possible burial inscription. And something left for later searches.
