I think i am getting blurry eyes:)  Searching on igi but not making any headway:(
Trying to find other children for Charles Bruce and Amelia or Charles Bruce and Annie.
As for the link to Beaverbrook, i cannot find it.
Perhaps there is a possibility through the second marriage Danchaslyn?  There HAS to be a link somewhere as it has been found previously by a family member (who has since died 10 years ago) and was shown to current descendants of Thomas Alexander Aitken and Jane Sutherland Murray.
So frustrating! I am going crazy here.

Oh wow, Mamakaz and Bowes

You are finding out how you are related.  How I miss my late Mom at times like this, she would have been able to work it out in a jiffy for you!

Anyway, I'm soon off to feed pets and ourselves, but Bowes, as I'm definitely going on a trip, sometime soon to look at graveyards, let me know what you want me to look up in Torphichen, or wherever??   Huh

As there is a current Lord Beaverbrook living in Cherkley House, one would imagine that somewhere the "Tree" is published??    Huh

Happy hunting

Cheers

Hi Kaz and Danchaslyn,

Well well well, we are doing well:)
Kaz, my brother in law is your mother's second cousin, 1 times removed. (According to relationship calculator on my program)
Danchaslyn, i have looked for a tree for the Beaverbrooks, but so far nothing has come up concrete.  As for looking up graveyards, i would most appreciate if you could.  Check out the Aitkens in 1700's.  I am hoping to find a sibling to Thomas Aitken who was born about 1780 in Falkirk, Stirling and perhaps his brother's line went down to the Beaverbrook connection.  Or alternatively, Alexander Aitken born 18 September 1808 in Falkirk had perhaps a son whose line went down to Beaverbrook.  At this stage i am unsure.

Thanks guys for all your hard work

Hi guys,

Did some searching on one of the Aitkens, Alexander Born about 1808 in Falkirk, son of Thomas Aitken and Helen Scrimgeour, and this is what i found:

Alexander married Christina Legat, daughter of John Legat and Agnes Aitken!

Look at this link and hopefully one of you will find some info. Many thanks to ecneps for her assistance.

Hi Bowes and mamakaz and huntersjoy, of course........

Sorry, Jackie, somehow or other I missed the above, until now, reading through the thread again.   Shocked

About the graveyard trip, please send me a list of all names you would like looked up and especially if you have parish details for each?    Roll Eyes

Jackie, your relationship calculator sounds great, please post for us, where we can find it, and use it.  This is what my mom was good at, the 2nd, 3rd cousin, once, twice removed etc., she knew how to work it out!!!!      Grin

Cheers

Hi Danchaslyn,

Firstly, relationship calendar is on the PAF programme. (The one from LDS site)

This is my list:

John Aitken B1752 Linlithgow married to Alison Walker B1750 Carriden.  One of their 9 children was John Aitken B1772 Carriden, died 1840 Torphichen.
Anything relating to them linking up with perhaps Falkirk, for
Thomas Aitken born about 1780 Falkirk, Stirling married to Helen Scrimgeour born about 1784, dtr of Henry Scrimgeour.

Any linking for above appreciated.

I will search for children of John and Alison and let you have.
