Hi

I am looking for help to find Richard Evans' wife's maiden name

He married Anne between 1859 and 1865

Richard was born around 1813 in Shrewsbury and Anne was born around 1812.  On the 1851 cencus they have 2 children, John Evans and Richard Ellis Evans.

They are living in Shrewsbury (St Chad)

Any help would be very appreciated

Eldest child was 7 on the 1851 census so marriage would be between 1842 - 1844

You need a copy of one of the childrens birth certs to find her maiden name

Neither the 1851 or 1861 census show Richard jnr with a middle name of Ellis

They were living in the Shrewsbury registration district in 1851 and this is the only John Evans birth there 1843/1844. 

However - if you send for a copy of the cert I would recommend you put a condition on your application that you only want it if parents were Richard and Anne

If it's the wrong one - the GRO will only charge a £3 search fee

Thanks for your reply

I have searched free bmd and think i found her surname as corfield married between 1842 and 44.

I will try and search more on this but thanks for your help
